Support Your Local Businesses

Support Your Local Businesses

During these unprecedented times, it’s important to remember that local businesses need our support more than ever. Did you know, that by shopping locally you can help put roughly 60% more money back into your community? Needless to say, the more you shop locally, the more your community thrives! Given the importance of not just social, but physical distancing, it’s all too easy to turn to big retailers for our needs. Here’s to hoping we can remind each other to stay involved in all aspects of supporting our communities, local economy, small business owners, and more. Below are just a few ways we can help our neighbors.

“If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito.” ― Betty Reese

PICKUP & TO-GO FOOD -
Allowing for pickup or curbside delivery has been a saving grace for many small local businesses. From local mom & pop restaurants to your favorite local juicer, picking up a meal(s) is easy and a sure way to support small businesses! Be sure to visit their websites or simply give them a call to make sure they’re prepared for your order and it’s ready to pick up when you arrive. This helps minimize your social interactions and physical time spent inside a store/near others. & don’t forget your mask!

FOOD DELIVERY -
There are dozens of food delivery services to assist and deliver, too! Doordash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and Postmates are just a few, but be sure to double-check with the business, as some local breweries and local juice shops have started to deliver on their own! With food delivery, comes great responsibility. Don’t forget to continue practicing social distancing and proper handwashing recommendations in between all interactions. GIFT CARDS -
QUICK! Name your favorite juice bar or coffee shop you frequented before all this happened. Got it? Good! Now consider supporting them by purchasing a gift card! Most businesses offer gift cards for purchase and it’s a great way to support them as soon as possible. We’re craving that Pitaya bowl on the daily and now our local cafe knows it too!

Get Social, Reach Out and Help -
It’s no secret, small businesses need help and if there’s anything we’ve learned in this business, it’s that there are many small ways to make a difference. Reach out to your favorite local business and ask how you might be able to support them. It could be as easy as sharing a photo on social media of your last meal with them, or you may have a skill set that could help support them at this time. The possibilities are endless when we ask. Have any ideas? Share them with us! We’d love to help get the word out.
